Seulgi Hong- Business Marketing Diploma

"Prospective students should know that you are responsible for yourself and your actions, no one else. You are the only person who will be able to challenge and push yourself to become who you want to be. "

Seulgi Hong

Program: Business Marketing Diploma
Enrollment: 2017 - 2018
Nationality: South Korean

Pursuing my diploma in Business Marketing at Humber College was challenging at the beginning but allowed me to gain the confidence I needed by the end.  I joined Toastmasters to push myself and network with new people in the Humber community. I gained new social skills and learned valuable information.

My favourite course was Professional Selling and my professor helped me overcome my frustration with my English after explaining to me that people value what you’re saying and aren’t focused on your accent. This encouraged me to initiate conversations in the professional world, join a mentorship program and land my internship at ALC21, a marketing agency.  Prospective students should know that you are responsible for yourself and your actions, no one else. You are the only person who will be able to challenge and push yourself to become who you want to be.

Omer Imran - Alumni Success Story

“I made a promise to myself after leaving home that I would actively seek to meet people outside my social circle and Humber helped me achieve that.

Omer Imran

Program:  Business Management Diploma

Enrollment: 2007- 2009

Nationality: Pakistani

When I was doing my research on Ontario colleges, Humber College stood out for its reputation as one of the most diverse colleges in Canada. The International Centre at Humber really helped me adjust. They were always organizing trips and helped me understand the basics of opening a bank account and the best places where I can do my grocery shopping.

I made a promise to myself after leaving home that I would actively seek to meet people outside my regular social circle and Humber helped me achieve that.  My job experience includes working as an account manager for a fortune 100 company, to my current position as a Vice President of sales and marketing for a start-up company that specializes in Microsoft services. My professors at Humber taught me to be humble and be willing to continue learning. Be true to yourself, your passions and long-term goals. My advice for future students is to be courageous. There is no better time in your life than now to try something different or start a new life.
