On the road again...memoirs from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India

By:Tania Sherwood, Recruitment Manager for Europe, Middle East, and India

While many in Canada were eagerly welcoming the Canadian summer, I was sweating it out in the golden sands, under a scorching sun. At 35 Degrees Celsius and hotter, I was representing Humber on recruitment trips in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and India.

Getex Fair - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

My first event was in Dubai.

The Getex Fair bustled with international students keen to learn more about our degree programs. It was a pleasure to see such enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about Canadian education and Humber.

Our very own Canadian brand Tim Horton’s shone brightly on one of the many tall glass buildings - a typical feature of Dubai’s modern and high-end architectural identity.

International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education (IECHE) – Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Humber, among many international institutions, was present at the IECHE from April 15-18, 2014.

I distinctly remember spotting a huge bottle-opener in the midst of the city. Called Kingdom Centre, this 65-story building flaunts a huge peeping hole on the top!

Delhi - Gujarat, India

From Delhi to Gujarat, the purpose of the trip was to focus on building new partnerships and strengthening Humber’s relations with India.

These trips were and always are an excellent opportunity for Recruitment Managers at Humber to connect with prospective international students all over the world and share the great experiences that Humber has to offer.

More trips and more stories are yet to come!
