2014 International Education Week at Humber

From November 17-21, 2014, Humber’s International Centre will be celebrating International Education Week (IEW). We will showcase many different cultures that Humber embraces through our student population, international mobility programs, and international partnerships. Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, interactive activities, cultural entertainment, language cafes, and a very special photography exhibit called Global Lens.

This year, IEW at Humber will feature the following events:
Global Lens Exhibit

Lakeshore Campus – L Space Gallery
Opening Reception (by invitation only) Monday, November 17 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Lakeshore Campus – L Space Gallery
Global Lens is a visual demonstration of student learning through their overseas study and work experiences. Gallery visitors are invited to contribute their journeys to a large-scale map, share their views on global citizenship, and participate in creating a global tapestry.

Humber Goes Global will provide an opportunity to learn about various countries and their unique characteristics such as the food, traditional clothing, language etc. Japan, Italy, Barbados, New Zealand, and Nigeria will be featured at booths at both campuses and students who have lived/travelled to these countries will share their first-hand experiences.

These events are organized for first-semester students, their Connect Senior Buddies, and their Connect faculty/staff mentors, but all international students are welcome! The goal of these informal events is simple: to connect staff, faculty, and students. There will be coffee, tea, water, and cookies to enjoy as well. Please feel free to stop in for 5 minutes even if you can't come for the full time.
