Mekong Meanderings: Leave for Change in Vietnam

By Jeff Szmyr M.Ed, Accessibility Consultant, Accessible Learning Services, Humber College

In November 2014 I participated in Humber's Leave for Change program. The Leave for Change program allows Canadian employees to contribute their vacation time, skills and experience to help build capacity in partner organizations abroad.

"... teachers at a community college..."
I spent 3 fantastic weeks living and volunteering as a Teaching Methodology Specialist in Cao Lanh, a rural town in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. I worked with teachers at a community college to develop facilitation skills and inclusive education resources.

If you are a full-time, permanent faculty or staff member at Humber who is interested in human development and global experience, I whole-heartedly encourage you to apply for this program! Positions are advertised every February through Humber’s HR department.

In this blog, I included five of my favourite photos to capture my experience. But please feel free to check out my blog for more info at www.mekongmeanderings.blogspot.ca.
