Over 3,000 international students from more than 130 countries around the world have chosen Humber College in Toronto, Canada as their education destination.
Humber is committed to supporting students getting through their programs, especially when it comes to financial matters. That’s why Humber offers a number of scholarships for international students, ranging from one-off awards of $1,000 to a renewable full tuition fee scholarship.
The scholarships are divided throughout the three academic semesters each year: Winter (January-April), Summer (May-August) and Fall (September-December). These scholarships are available at the time of admission and offered as a discount on tuition fees, based on the sustained academic performance, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest of the applicant.
All undergraduate degree applicants are eligible to receive ‘Bachelors Degree Scholarships’ which are offered based on high-school/upper year grades.
International students are also eligible for scholarships offered by the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. The 8-level EAP program fully prepares students to study in a college academic environment. To support International students, the English Language Centre created the following annual awards:
- Academic Excellence Award in English for Academic Purposes (3 x annual awards of $250 each)
- The English for Academic Purposes International Student Diploma Pathway Award (1x annual award of $500)
- The English for Academic Purposes International Student Degree/Postgraduate Pathway Award (1x annual award of $500)
After completing the EAP program, international students are eligible for a one-time scholarship of $1,500. They need to have a GPA of 80% or more and apply for a degree at Humber College. That’s a good way to progress your studies in Canada!
Scholarships and awards are also offered by Humber’s eight Academic Schools. For example, The Business School is currently offering a $2,500 scholarship incentive for diploma students – the only one of its kind in Canada! Applicants must have completed a two- or three-year diploma at a publicly funded college with a program GPA of 80% or better.
Deeksha Anand, a Business Accounting student from Indonesia, applied for full tuition scholarship. She mentions that although the process requires dedication on gathering the documents and writing the application letters, it proves to be worthwhile and rewarding. “I’m very happy that Humber provides 100% full tuition scholarships. Comparing to other Canadian college’s scholarships, Humber’s options are definitely superior."
Whether entering Humber directly from high school, previous studies, or after working, Humber is committed to student success and creating pathways that can lead to a variety of successful career opportunities.
