Lakeshore Information Session on Humber's Guatemala Initiative

Humber is partnering with a small NGO in Guatemala that works with a Mayan community to meet its development needs.
Come learn about more about potential ways Humber faculty and students can get involved.
A community needs assessment and initial meetings revealed possible opportunities for faculty and students to work with the NGO and the community in developing their capacity in the following areas:
Nutrition and Healthy Eating
Environmental Awareness (Garbage Collection/Recycling/Composting)
Water Access/ Collection/ Conservation 
Sustainable and Renewable Energy
Personal hygiene and sanitation 
Female and Maternal Health
Early Childhood Education
Financial Literacy, Livelihood (entrepreneurial skills)
Skills-based training (sewing and carpentry) 
Tourism/Marketing Opportunities
Communications: website development, video, social media strategy, promotion of success stories
Fundraising for project(s) 
Project design, planning and implementation of community development projects
Proposal/Grant Writing
